Privacy Policy
Plain summary: Draft Hause is a professional product for interior design studios. We collect account information, project information, and (when you use scanning) room scan files and related floor-plan data so your studio can run projects. Location is optional and only used to record where a scan was captured. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising. You can request access, correction, or deletion by emailing info@drafthause.com.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- The Draft Hause mobile application for iPhone/iPad (the “App”);
- The Draft Hause web portal and APIs hosted at admin.drafthause.com and related services (the “Services”);
- Users invited by a design studio or firm, including admins, designers, production staff, and clients.
Draft Hause is generally used through an invitation / account issued by a studio. If you use Draft Hause through your employer or design firm, that organization may control project content and may have its own policies that apply in addition to this one.
2. What we collect
We collect only what is needed to operate the App and Services. Categories include:
2.1 Account & identity
- Name
- Email address
- Password (stored in hashed form; we do not store plaintext passwords)
- Role (for example: admin, designer, client)
- Profile photo (if you choose to upload one)
- Authentication / session tokens needed to keep you signed in
2.2 Studio & project data
- Project names, descriptions, addresses / site addresses, types, milestones, status
- Assignments (which designers/clients are on a project)
- Notes, checklists, comments, and similar project communications entered in the product
- Files linked to a project (for example design links, product references, submissions)
- Time-log entries if your studio uses time tracking features
2.3 Scan & floor-plan data (designers)
When a designer captures a space, we may process and store:
- LiDAR / RoomPlan scan files (for example USDZ or related packages)
- Captured-room metadata and geometry used to generate floor plans
- 2D floor plan images (for example PNG) and optional PDF exports
- Derived measurements such as room dimensions and approximate square footage
- Detected architectural elements and objects as provided by Apple RoomPlan and our processing (walls, doors, windows, furniture/fixture categories and labels)
- Optional capture location: latitude, longitude, accuracy, and timestamp only if you grant Location When In Use permission
2.4 Device & technical data
- App version, device model/OS version as needed for support and compatibility
- IP address, approximate network metadata, and standard server logs when you use the Services
- Basic diagnostics needed to keep the service reliable (for example request errors)
We do not use the App for cross-app advertising tracking, and we do not sell personal data.
2.5 Communications
- Emails we send for invitations, password reset, verification, and project notifications
- Messages you send to info@drafthause.com
3. Why we collect data (purposes)

4. How we use data
- To create and manage user accounts and invitations
- To store and display projects, scans, floor plans, and related files to authorized users
- To sync designer uploads from the App to the studio portal
- To show optional GPS coordinates / site address on floor plans and project views when available
- To send transactional email (invites, resets, notifications)
- To maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Services
We do not:
- Sell personal information
- Use scan or floor-plan content for third-party advertising
- Share your content publicly outside your studio’s authorized users, except as required by law or with your instruction
5. iOS permissions explained

You can change permissions later in iOS Settings. Location is never required to complete a scan.
6. Sharing & service providers
We share data only as needed to run Draft Hause:
- Within your studio: Admins, assigned designers, and clients may see project content according to role permissions.
- Hosting / infrastructure: Servers and storage used to host admin.drafthause.com and related systems.
- Email delivery: Transactional email for invites and account messages.
- Apple: RoomPlan / system frameworks process sensor data on device as part of scanning. Apple’s own terms and privacy practices apply to Apple frameworks.
- Legal: If required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We require processors to use data only to provide services to us and to protect it appropriately.
7. Retention
- Account data: Kept while the account is active and as needed for the studio relationship.
- Project / scan / floor-plan files: Kept while the project/account remains on our systems, or until deleted by an authorized admin or upon a verified deletion request, subject to legal retention needs.
- Backups / logs: May persist for a limited period for security, disaster recovery, and operations, then are deleted or overwritten on a rolling basis.
- Optional location: Retained with the associated scan/project record.

8. Security
We use industry-reasonable measures, including HTTPS for data in transit, access controls by role, and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong unique password and protect your device.
9. Your rights & choices
Depending on your location and role, you may request to:
- Access personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account / personal data (see Data Deletion)
- Export a copy of certain data where feasible
- Withdraw optional permissions (for example location) in device settings
- Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable law provides that right
To submit a request, email info@drafthause.com from the email on your account and describe what you need. We may verify identity before acting. If you use Draft Hause through a studio, some content is controlled by that studio and we may need to coordinate with them.
10. Children
Draft Hause is a professional business tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. International transfers
Our Services may be hosted in the United States or other locations where we or our processors operate. If you access Draft Hause from another country, your information may be processed in a country with different data-protection laws. We take steps appropriate to the services we operate to protect personal data.
12. App Store / Apple-related disclosures
- Data practices described here are intended to match the App’s App Privacy labels and in-app permission prompts.
- Scanning requires a LiDAR-capable device and Apple RoomPlan support.
- We do not operate a hidden “review-only” mode that behaves differently from production regarding data collection.
- Account deletion / data deletion requests are handled as described on Data Deletion (Guideline 5.1.1(v) alignment for account-based apps).

13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated through the App, portal, or email where appropriate. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
